Redmine ndnrtc - Task #3551 (New): Determine if best-route strategy is causing performance degradation fo...https://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35512016-03-13T17:20:21ZJeff Burkejaburke@gmail.com
<p>Behavior similar to that documented in issue <a class="issue tracker-3 status-5 priority-2 priority-default closed parent" title="Task: [ndnrtc-oi] Dashboard design (Closed)" href="https://redmine.named-data.net/issues/3530">#3530</a> was being observed, visually on the testbed map, during the March 9 test, independently by two participants. (See <a class="issue tracker-3 status-3 priority-2 priority-default" title="Task: Prep for March 2 seminar with NDN-RTC (Resolved)" href="https://redmine.named-data.net/issues/3485#note-9">#3485-9</a> and <a class="issue tracker-3 status-3 priority-2 priority-default" title="Task: Prep for March 2 seminar with NDN-RTC (Resolved)" href="https://redmine.named-data.net/issues/3485#note-13">#3485-13</a>.)</p>
<p>On an isolated set of machines, we should try to replicate this behavior (perhaps using link-shaping tools that Jiawen used for testing NDN-RTC?), determine if it is caused by best-route, and develop a mitigation approach if it is.</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3549 (Resolved): Prep for March 16 seminarhttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35492016-03-13T16:57:11ZJeff Burkejaburke@gmail.com
<p>Ben Murphy at Memphis will give the next seminar on March 16. Peter, can you please follow up with him to facilitate the testing, and document plans and results here? </p>
ndnrtc - Task #3541 (New): [ndnrtc] Increased latency after rebufferinghttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35412016-03-10T15:53:02ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>Sometimes, after rebuffering, consumer experiences increased latency as if Adjustment phase never happened.</p>
<p>Example test result is <a href="http://ec2-52-90-158-238.compute-1.amazonaws.com:3000/dashboard/db/ndn-rtc-metrics-test-multi-consumer-video?from=1457651619025&to=1457651757655" class="external">here</a></p>
ndnrtc - Task #3537 (New): [ndncon] Memory footprint grows over long runs for publishershttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35372016-03-09T17:40:34ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>Over long runs (12-24hrs) <em>ndncon</em> memory grows approximately at the rate of 100Mb/hr. Xcode Instruments don't show any memory leaks. Need to check for abandoned memory.</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3536 (New): [ndncon] Crashes when leaving/joining chathttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35362016-03-09T17:38:45ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>Need to investigate reasons why <em>ndncon</em> crashes randomly when leaving or joining a chatroom.</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3535 (New): [ndncon] Crashes when stop publishing audiohttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35352016-03-09T17:37:44ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>Sometimes <em>ndncon</em> crashes when user stops publishing audio.</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3529 (New): [ndnrtc-oi] Ingest current consumer statehttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35292016-03-09T17:22:31ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>Consumer state should be ingested as a double with the following mapping:</p>
<ul>
<li>0 - idle</li>
<li>1 - chase</li>
<li>2 - adjust</li>
<li>3 - fetch</li>
<li>4 - challenge</li>
</ul>
ndnrtc - Task #3527 (New): [ndnrtc-oi] Implement NDN-RTC metric ingestion into Operational Intell...https://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35272016-03-09T17:17:35ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>A minimal set of important and relevant NDN-RTC metrics should be ingested into OI tools in real-time while <em>ndncon</em> is running.</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3526 (Resolved): March 10 NDN-RTC testhttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35262016-03-09T17:14:32ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>Tests on March 9th demonstrated poor performance in multi-consumer scenarios for audio conferencing. <br>
There is a need to narrow down testing and understand issues causing poor performance (choppy audio).</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3516 (New): Decrease conversational latency perceived by usershttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/35162016-03-06T08:33:35ZJeff Burkejaburke@gmail.com
<p>In the 3/1 NFD call, Beichuan observes "more of a delay with WebEx", which is understandable given current buffer sizing approach. Peter, can you update this issue with some of the specifics that we discussed in Osaka about how to reduce delay and lower buffer sizes. These may not be feasible until other testbed issues are resolved, but we should start preparing for them. </p>
ndnrtc - Feature #3488 (New): Incorporate ARC detection into master branchhttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/34882016-02-28T09:32:02ZJeff Burkejaburke@gmail.com
<p>Peter, I know that we are not ready for incorporating ARC support, and it's not likely to solve current problems, but I'm wondering if we could include the congestion detection mechanism and log its behavior, just to see how it does? (Without actually switching threads...?)</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3486 (Resolved): Scripts to log NFD counters across testbed during runshttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/34862016-02-28T09:17:23ZJeff Burkejaburke@gmail.com
<p>Do we have / could we make scripts that gather table size, CPU, memory use, etc. every few seconds from testbed nodes? This might help see trends. Also might consider making these stats visualized on ndnmap? Peter, can you follow up with John DeHart?</p>
ndnrtc - Task #3485 (Resolved): Prep for March 2 seminar with NDN-RTChttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/34852016-02-28T09:10:23ZJeff Burkejaburke@gmail.com
<p>Christos will give the next seminar on March 2. Anyone at ColoState that might be able to provide support to him in running both NDN-RTC and WebEx at the same time? Peter, can you follow up with Christos and Steve as a starting point, and try to push a new version of NDN-RTC with any things that we want to test? Suggest to provide only one bandwidth option for each stream, so we see uniform requests across all nodes.</p>
ndnrtc - Bug #2675 (New): [NdnCon] Live statistics on publisherhttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/26752015-03-23T12:17:21ZPeter Gusevpeter@remap.ucla.edu
<p>Show statistics on the publisher side:</p>
<ul>
<li>encoding bitrate</li>
<li>outgoing data rate</li>
<li>incoming interests
...any other useful info.</li>
</ul>
ndnrtc - Bug #1844 (New): Compilation in C++11 mode brokenhttps://redmine.named-data.net/issues/18442014-08-11T19:33:23ZAlex Afanasyev
<p>When ndn-cpp is compiled in C++11 mode, ndnrtc does not compile.</p>
<p><a href="https://github.com/cawka/ndnrtc/commit/d8c6589a27ff09f19e9237b89b948335d1c92ab9">https://github.com/cawka/ndnrtc/commit/d8c6589a27ff09f19e9237b89b948335d1c92ab9</a> fixes most of the problems, but needs revision before actually merging.</p>
