# SignatureType The following table defines the currently assigned values for the SignatureType element in NDN Interest and Data packets. This signature type MUST NOT be used except in testing environments or for experimentation purposes. A `KeyLocator` element SHOULD NOT be used with this type of signature; if present, it MUST be ignored.
