# NDN Forwarding Daemon (NFD) 

 **NDN Forwarding Daemon (NFD)** is a new NDN forwarder under active development. 
 NFD 0.2.0 was released on August 25, 2014. 

 NFD implements the following specifications:

 * [[ConfigFileFormat|NFD Configuration file format]] 
 * [[NDNLP-TLV]] for Ethernet communication
