Some editors and development tools automatically remove trailing whitespace from the end of lines since it is common practice to avoid it. If the file has trailing whitespace and an editor removes it while making other code changes, then there is "commit noise" of many extra changed lines. Therefore, we should remove trailing whitespace from all code now to prevent this in the future.

Also, if the editor supports it, enable "remove trailing whitespace from modified lines".
