Description

The design should be either in simple ppt form or some other graphical form.

We need to know:

  • which screen are available
  • how they are reached
  • what kind of functions available to do in the app
  • how this will be happening in general

Based on the emails and documentation links understanding on nfdc I could come up with this initial design.
I think to begin with this basic design will serve most of the purpose and we can append more as we go.

I found better ways for you to share design thoughts. Please try to use http://www.invisionapp.com to upload design pictures and connect elements together.

As for your current thoughts (comments about the slide deck):

  • slide 2 and 3: unfortunately, I couldn't understand what you were trying to say. I guess these suppose to be objectives, but I got lost in them... (you can list some objectives just as part of this redmine task)

  • slide 4: not sure what you showing. If it is general picture, then it is not needed

  • slide 5: i don't believe such status bar would be necessary. This relates to my disagreements with the following screens

  • slide 6: looks good. Did you make this picture youself or just added NDN on top of some picture you found? We should be careful not to take any pictures that protected by the copyright/license

  • slide 7: there will be no explicit start/stop and the whole point for the app is to do various kinds of configuration. So this is not needed.

  • slide 8-11: may be it is just figures, but I'm a little bit confused about the workflow. Are you planning to use actual "buttons" or these will be Settings interface. If so, make the picture clearer (there are several online tools to make Android GUI, Visio does that, on OmniGraffle can create nice mobile GUI figures)

My thought is that the app would present itself like WiFi settings on Android. In the initial screen there could be options "Status", "Create face", "Register Prefix"; in status there would be "General", "Face", "FIB", "RIB", "Choice"; ...

Will continue in agile ad hoc way for now. We can reopen this task later if we decide to do face lifting of NFD app.
