Other NDN software can be tested using ndnSIM, itself based on NS-3. Many useful experiments could be conducted if NLSR could be run on ndnSIM, too.
- NLSR should run on ndnSIM with as few modifications as necessary.
- Various statistics should be available to the ndnSIM environment, for data collection.

An initial port of NLSR to ndnSIM was completed in the 3rd NDN Hackathon, in November 2016.
