Description
Make NFD Management commands, datasets, and notifications available under a configurable set of top-level prefixes, in addition to ndn:/localhost/nfd
.
Necessity
ndn:/localhost/nfd
is only accessible from the local machine.
To administrate a remote NFD instance, the operator must use an out-of-bound mechanism (typically SSH) to gain access to the remote machine, and then perform local NFD management there.
It's desirable for NFD to be administrated over NDN network itself, which is similar to IP routers being administrated over IP network using telnet or SNMP.
This issue includes:
- Declare a configuration option to specify top-level prefixes for NFD management.
ndn:/localhost/nfd
is always enabled, and need not appear in the configuration. - Modify NFD management initialization procedure to add all configured top-level prefixes to the dispatcher.
- Modify the Dispatcher to post Notifications under every top-level prefix.
This issue does not change top-level prefixes of NFD-RIB management.
NFD Developer Guide should be updated to reflect the change.
