Description
Release ndn-cxx, NFD, ndn-tools version 0.5.0.
- write release notes, update
docs/release-notes-latest.rst symlink, add entry in docs/releases.rst
- update version number in
wscript
- publish source and binary packages
- update documentation on named-data.net (generate documentation for the released version, update symlinks to "current", update version in github hook)
- send announcement
Would be nice to wait for the release of Boost 1.62.0 (scheduled for 9/28, but it might be few days late) to make sure we're compatible with it.
I disagree with waiting for Boost 1.62. Even if it's released on Sep 28, it won't be available on HomeBrew immediately.
I don't think we need to wait for Homebrew. Alex said he tested Boost master branch on Aug 25th, so I'm assuming he has a quick way of checking against 1.62 final without using Homebrew packages. One OSX/macOS version would be enough. Anyway, not a big deal if it can't be done easily.
For tests, I have deactivated homebrew version, downloaded, compiled, and installed pre release version of boost from source. So, it is not hard to do a quick test.

0.5.1 has been released in #3859 so there's no value in 0.5.0 MacPorts release.
